An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Restore accountability and respect rule of law in immigration

3 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The ongoing defiance of judicial orders and disregard for due process in immigration enforcement sets a dangerous precedent that undermines the rule of law and constitutional checks and balances. Willfully ignoring court rulings and deporting individuals without proper legal proceedings is not law enforcement - it is lawlessness that erodes civil liberties and democratic principles. We cannot normalize or accept such aberrant behavior from public officials entrusted to uphold the law. Restoring accountability, following lawful court orders, and respecting human rights must be prioritized over politicized crackdowns that trample on constitutional protections. Unchecked executive overreach that flouts judicial oversight poses an existential threat to our system of government and the values it was founded upon. Decisive action is needed to rein in this disturbing pattern of defiance and reaffirm our commitment to justice, due process, and the separation of powers.
