An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop New VA Rules allowing refusal to treat Democrats, unmarried veterans

31 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!

The Department of Veterans Affairs' new policies enabling doctors to refuse treatment to veterans based on their political affiliation or marital status are deeply unethical and antithetical to the principles of equal access to healthcare. Allowing discrimination against patients for characteristics unrelated to their medical needs undermines the integrity of the VA system and jeopardizes the well-being of those who have served our country. I urge you to take immediate action to reverse these concerning rule changes. Healthcare professionals should focus solely on providing quality care to all veterans, without regard to personal beliefs or legally protected statuses. Preserving the core values of medicine and safeguarding access to treatment for our nation's veterans should be of paramount importance. These discriminatory policies are unacceptable and must be rescinded to uphold the VA's mission of serving all who have honorably served.
