The executive branch is currently setting precedent for things that should not be allowed.
They convinced the supreme court that it is ok for the president to fire members of independent agencies.
They have fired the librarian of Congress. The branch of government that should be managing that position is right in the name.
They have, according to the GAO, illegally embargoed funds allocated by Congress for specific agencies by refusing to spend it.
They have accepted a gift worth hundreds of millions, that the American taxpayers will have to pay hundreds of millions more, ostensibly for the federal government. Yet somehow it will go to the president's library when he leaves office? How is that not an emolument?
They have established that they will not engage in foreign diplomacy with some governments unless they buy satellite access from Starlink, a private business the government has no place advertising for, let alone requiring countries to purchase.
They have decided that whiteness is more important than danger when it comes to asylum in our country. Speaking of which, they have decided that due process is only for the people they think it is for and not for others.
In order to do that they are relying on something this president is great at. Lying to the American people in blatant ways, while prosecuting or otherwise hurting those that dare speak up. Law firms, broadcasting agencies, heads of federal agencies, all of them have been hurt in some ways by the administration, in direct contradiction of the first amendment right to free speech.
This executive branch is breaking law after law, on purpose, defying judges, on purpose. The administration is working to set precedent. Looking for courts that are willing to bend interpretation of the law in the administration's favor. To top it all off, they are working through you and with you to limit the power of the judiciary to enforce its judgments against the executive.
The administration is trying to set the worst kinds of precedent. Precedent that takes away your powers in Congress. Precedent that limits the judiciary. Precedent that allows them to help the rich at the cost of the rest of the American people. Like United Health, they are willing to let the rest of us die by taking away health care from millions of people, in order to make the rich even richer.
You can stop this. Or are you one of them? Stand with the American people. Stand for our state.
