An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Demand Accountability for the Lies of This Administration

36 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!

I am writing to demand that Congress act to hold this Administration accountable for its constant stream of lies and deliberate misinformation. The American people deserve the truth, and instead we are being buried under deception. Each lie erodes trust in government, weakens our democracy, and places political gain above the well-being of our nation. Here are only a few examples: • Lies about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s health: We were told outright falsehoods about his medical condition and fitness for office. Transparency about a public figure’s health is critical to public trust, and instead, deception was used to manipulate voters. • Lies about Jeffrey Epstein and the release of files: This Administration continues to hide the full truth about Epstein’s network of abusers. Promises were made to victims and the public that transparency would come—but instead, we get secrecy, deflection, and cover-ups that shield the powerful. • Lies about tariffs: Americans were told tariffs would punish foreign governments. In reality, they are a hidden tax on U.S. consumers and small businesses. Studies from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office and independent economists confirm that American families are the ones paying the price. Yet the Administration continues to push the false narrative that “other countries” are paying. • Lies about federal funding and deficits: We hear over and over that this Administration has “balanced budgets” or “saved taxpayer money,” when in truth, deficits have ballooned and reckless spending decisions are being disguised with accounting tricks and half-truths. The American people deserve honest numbers, not political spin. This is not how a functioning democracy works. A president—and an administration—must be held to the truth. When lies become daily policy, Congress must step in. I urge you to: 1. Launch public investigations into these areas of deception. 2. Demand testimony under oath from administration officials responsible for spreading false information. 3. Strengthen laws against government disinformation so that no future president can so easily mislead the American people. We cannot normalize dishonesty from our highest office. Truth is the foundation of trust, and without it, democracy collapses. Please take action now to defend that truth.
