An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Act immediately to stop starvation policies in Gaza blockade.

The ongoing blockade of Gaza by Israel is causing a severe humanitarian crisis and rapidly deteriorating situation of starvation unprecedented in modern times. UN officials have condemned Israel's actions as an intentional campaign to starve the 2.3 million Palestinian residents of Gaza. All humanitarian aid is being prevented from entering, resulting in warnings that even if violence ceases, the devastating impact and destruction already inflicted amounts to an ongoing genocide. This deprivation of food and basic essentials for Palestinian civilians is a grave violation of international law and human rights. An arms embargo on Israel should be imposed to compel an end to these policies. Immediate action must be taken to lift the blockade and allow unrestricted access for humanitarian aid to reach those in desperate need and prevent further loss of life from famine in Gaza. The world cannot stand by as this mass starvation continues unabated. Concrete steps must be urgently pursued through all available diplomatic channels to compel Israel to end this unconscionable blockade and starvation policies targeting a civilian population.
