We veterans begged you not to confirm Pete Hegseth because he was completely unqualified, and he had far too much baggage, like heavy drinking and sexual imprepriety. You ignored our concerns and confirmed him anyway. Fine. But now, surely you can acknowledge that his confirmation was a mistake.
As a lowly enlisted service member, I was tasked with handling top secret materials every day, and never once did I give unauthorized access to those materials. If I had, I would have been court martialed, locked up, and then discharged dishonorably... and I would have deserved it.
Is Pete Hegseth above the law? Because what he did was a crime, even if it was due to him being incompetent. Will he be allowed such incompetence? He endangered the active duty men and women who were conducting these operations. Will you hold him accountable?
