Demand Full Transparency and Compliance with Epstein Files Transparency Act

I am writing to urge you to demand full compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which President Trump signed into law in November. Recent revelations from Rep. Jamie Raskin's review of unredacted Epstein files provided to the House Judiciary Committee raise serious concerns about the Department of Justice's adherence to this law. Rep. Raskin discovered that President Trump's name appears over a million times in the unredacted database when searching for "Trump," "Donald," and "Don." While not every mention may refer to the President specifically, the sheer volume warrants thorough investigation. More troubling is that the DOJ appears to be violating a key provision of the Act that explicitly prohibits redacting the names of Epstein's accomplices. The department now faces a deadline to justify these redactions to Congress in writing. One particularly significant document Raskin identified is a 2009 email from Jeffrey Epstein to Ghislaine Maxwell containing correspondence between Epstein's lawyers and Trump's attorneys. According to this email, Trump's lawyers stated that Epstein was not a Mar-a-Lago member but a guest who had never been asked to leave. This directly contradicts Trump's public claims that he ended his friendship with Epstein years earlier and banned him from Mar-a-Lago after discovering misconduct. Rep. Raskin noted this is just one memo among 3 million Epstein files in DOJ possession. He described the review tool provided to committee members as "confusing, unreliable, and clunky," and found the redactions to be for "indeterminate, inscrutable" reasons. The Trump administration's assertion that unreleased documents are merely duplicates deserves scrutiny. The American people deserve transparency about Jeffrey Epstein's network of accomplices and associates. I urge you to press the DOJ for full compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act and support efforts to release all relevant documents without improper redactions. This is about accountability and justice for Epstein's victims.
