The MAGA extremist budget proposal must not pass the Senate.

The budget proposal that passed the House is yet another example of the Republican Party’s descent into MAGA extremism, and I am horrified by the negative impact this proposal would have on the American people. Republicans want to slash $2 trillion from the federal budget just to pay for Trump’s latest round of massive tax breaks for the wealthy and large corporations. To make matters worse, Republicans plan on delivering these massive giveaways to billionaires by cutting Medicaid, SNAP benefits, and perhaps even targeting Medicare and Social Security. This is truly unconscionable, and will harm communities all across the country, in red states and blue states alike. These are programs people count on to survive.   Trump, Musk, and the Republican Party would rather deliver billionaires another tax break than provide healthcare to seniors, food for families, or support for low-income children. As your constituent, I ask that you vote against any budget that damages these safety net programs, speak out against the shameful, damaging cuts on TV, radio, podcasts, with independent journalists, and any outlet that gives you the opportunity to spread this crucial message. I also ask that you be willing to stand alongside your fellow Democrats, refuse to compromise, and allow MAGA Republicans to be the ones who shutdown the government over their cruel agenda. They will pay the political price. Finally, I ask that you engage directly with the few Republicans who are uncomfortable with the budget but who may fear reprisals from Trump, Musk, and MAGA loyalists. They need to hear from you that their political courage will quite literally save lives.
