I want my tax dollars to go to humanitarian relief, both here and abroad. We already give billions of dollars to Israel. They have already arguably committed serious war crimes in their vengeful attack on Gaza. They've shut off humanitarian aid, attacked civilian infrastructure, homes, and more. They have killed many thousands more civilians than Hamas did. I do not justify Hamas' attack. But attacking a whole population under the guise of attacking militants is inexcusable and a war crime. Sending more military dollars so that Israel can perpetrate more war crimes and punish the Palestinian people, which they have oppressed for decades, is neither stabilizing nor just. The US has great leverage and great power with Israel. We must not contribute more guns, but should be contributing to humanitarian aid to the Palestinians. Do not authorize military funds to Israel and call for an immediate ceasefire.
