An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Hold SCOTUS accountable! Demand oversight of DOGE’s data use!

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I’m writing to express serious concern about the Supreme Court’s recent decision to allow the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) full access to Social Security records—without proper limits or privacy protections. This ruling puts millions of Americans’ most sensitive information at risk—like Social Security numbers, medical records, and financial history. It overrides previous rules that required anonymized or redacted data, and it opens the door to government overreach without proper checks. Even worse, the government hasn’t explained why this level of access is needed or how our data will be kept safe. This decision sets a dangerous precedent and could seriously erode trust in Social Security and our public institutions. I urge you to take action by: Supporting legislation that limits access to personal Social Security data Demanding oversight of DOGE’s data use Strengthening privacy laws to protect Americans' sensitive information Please stand up for the right to privacy and protect our data from misuse.
