Reform Healthcare and Pass the ERA

Today is a multi-issue message all related to healthcare. First, I want you to support and pass Senator Kaine’s Long Covid bill. 27 million Americans have it and many have no insurance. When representative Jayapal introduces her Universal Single Healthcare bill next month I want you to actively support that too so we don’t have piecemeal legislation for each disease and condition Second, I want you to support, pass and be vocal about the Women’s Healthcare Protection Act. Enough of women being treated as second class citizens. Put the abortion discussion where it belongs, between women and their healthcare providers. You are either a woman or related to one and you owe them that. Third and while we are on the subject of protecting Women’s Rights, I take note of the proposed ruling by HHS to protect abortion data within HIPPA so that law enforcement may not access it. Nice but DO MORE. I want you to consider legislation like the original Washington State Bill “My Health My Data” that protects private data from being acquired and sold by software like apps. You also need to make sure that phone records and messages are not used to prosecute (as they were in an anti-abortion case in Nebraska). Fourth, strengthen the FDA rules of operations so we don’t have this Mifepristone debacle with any other medications, like say vaccines or HIV anti-virals, or chemotherapy. Lastly, get that ERA into the constitution, You or your sister, or mom or daughter need you to stand up for them. YOU CAN DO ALL OF THIS AND WE YOUR CONSTITUENTS NEED YOU TO DO IT.
