Defend the Constitution's First Amendment! Vote NO on HR59

House Resolution 59 calling for the censure of Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde is a gross violation of the First Amendment's free speech and religious establishment clauses. This is an attempt to force a state approved form of Christianity, just like communist China. You have taken oaths to uphold the Constitution and defend it from all enemies, foreign and domestic. Congress has NO business telling any clergy person how to interpret the Bible. A Biblical exhortation to follow Jesus by being merciful would not have provoked such vitriol from any past President of this country, Republican or Democrat. This House Resolution is an abuse of power and we are counting on you to do the job we elected you to do and defend our Constitution against this abuse. Vote NO on HR 59.
