Reject Linda McMahon’s Nomination

I urge you to reject Linda McMahon’s nomination. Her appointment would be a direct insult to those who care about the well-being and education of children in this country. McMahon has no meaningful background in public education. She briefly served on the Connecticut Board of Education, a position she obtained after misrepresenting her credentials, falsely claiming to have a degree in education. Her career as CEO of WWE was defined not by public service but by corporate interests, including questionable business practices and the exploitation of employees. More disturbingly, McMahon and her husband, Vince McMahon, were aware of the sexual abuse of underage “ring boys” in WWE and failed to act. She is currently facing a lawsuit for her failure to protect children from sexual abuse during her time with the company (CNN, tinyurl.com/tmxausb2). Someone with such a history should not be entrusted with any role in shaping the future of America’s children. How can we allow someone with zero expertise in education and a history of negligence toward child safety to oversee policies that impact millions of students? I urge you to vote NO on Linda McMahon’s nomination and to speak out against this deeply inappropriate choice.
