Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is turning public health principles upside down. One moment, he claims that sugar is deadly, and the next, he praises Coca-Cola for switching from high-fructose corn syrup to cane sugar. During a congressional hearing, he even advised the public not to take health advice from him, perhaps his only honest statement. However, this admission only underscores the contradictions in his role as Secretary of HHS. RFK Jr.’s recent attacks on vaccine science are even more alarming. He disbanded the CDC’s expert-led vaccine advisory committee and replaced it with anti-vaccine activists. He downplayed a severe measles outbreak, directly contradicting state officials, and has spread misleading claims about the risks associated with COVID vaccines that contradict global research and fact-checking. Public health is not a matter of personal preference or opinion; it is grounded in proven, lifesaving science. RFK Jr.’s erratic behavior and dissemination of misinformation are putting lives at risk. We urge Congress to take immediate action: remove him from office, restore evidence-based public health leadership, and protect Americans from dangerous misinformation. Science saves lives; confusion and lies will cost them.
