An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Do Not Vote to Cut Public Broadcasting and Foreign Aid

3 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Don't vote for the rescission bill that cuts funding to public broadcasting and foreign aid. It would devastate public TV and radio stations, and gut lifesaving foreign aid programs. PEPFAR in particular, started by President G. W. Bush, has saved 26 million lives since 2003. Cutting funding that is aimed at preventing disease transmission is extremely short-sighted. Spreadable disease impacts everyone, so it's in our best interest to keep them from surging. $9B isn't worth the harm cutting these budgets will do nationally and globally.
