Perfidy Is a War Crime—Hold Trump Officials Accountable

I urge Congress to investigate the Trump administration’s use of a U.S. military aircraft disguised as a civilian plane in a strike on a Venezuelan vessel. Concealing weapons and pretending to be a civilian violates the law of war and constitutes perfidy, a war crime. If any country like Canada, Mexico, Greenland, or Cuba had shot down an American passenger plane, those responsible would face murder charges. The same accountability must apply here. I request Congress hold all involved officials responsible for this unlawful action and clarify steps for oversight and justice.
