End Unauthorized Warfare: Vote on War Powers Resolutions Now

I am writing as a constituent to urge you to take immediate emergency action to reassert Congress's constitutional authority over war powers. The bombing of Iran yesterday, ordered by President Trump without congressional approval, was ethically offensive and dangerously reckless. It risks dragging our nation into another unauthorized and unnecessary conflict.
Time is of the essence. War Powers resolutions are privileged measures that force prompt congressional votes, and Trump has already warned that American forces could carry out further hostilities if Tehran does not negotiate. Every day Congress delays action increases the risk of deeper military entanglement without constitutional authorization. The window to prevent an unauthorized war is rapidly closing.
Congress must immediately reestablish its role in decisions of war and peace. Both the Kaine War Powers Resolution and the Massie/AOC War Powers Resolution should be passed without delay before additional strikes occur. These measures are essential to restoring constitutional balance, preventing further reckless military action, and helping military commanders honor their oaths.
Personal political survival, distraction from failure, and narrative control are not valid purposes for going to war. When a president uses military force to manipulate public opinion, distract from scandals, or consolidate personal power, it represents a direct threat to America. Such actions undermine constitutional governance, violate the principles of just war, put American lives at risk for illegitimate reasons, and further destroy our economy.
Our Constitution is clear: only Congress has the authority to declare war. Every member of Congress took an oath to support and defend that Constitution. Now is the time to uphold that oath by demanding accountability and lawful process in matters of war while there is still time to prevent escalation into full-scale conflict.
Please act immediately to end unauthorized military action and protect American lives and interests. The House and Senate must return from recess to vote on these privileged War Powers resolutions without delay. Congressional inaction now effectively endorses unconstitutional warfare. The Constitution requires your immediate intervention—now.
Thank you.
