Oppose/Vote NO on Jordan Pratt for Federal Bench in Florida, Unfit and Extremist

Today I take pen in hand to urge you in the strongest possible terms to reject and vote NO on Judge Jordan Pratt’s nomination to the federal bench in Florida His record demonstrates a complete and pathological disregard for civil rights that renders him unfit for a lifetime appointment to the federal judiciary. His career has been dedicated to rolling back hard-won protections in areas such as reproductive rights and LGBTQ equality. One example of this is his ‘work’ at the First Liberty Institute. He’s taken extreme positions attacking abortion access, using inflammatory language to characterize this constitutionally protected right. He has also opposed basic measures to affirm the identity and dignity of transgender and non-binary students. Pratt's affiliations with the Alliance Defending Freedom, designated an anti-LGBTQ hate group, and the Federalist Society, known for its role in reshaping the courts against civil rights, are red flags. His disturbing judicial overreach in undermining Florida's parental bypass law for minors seeking abortion demonstrates an eagerness to achieve ideological ends over impartial application of the law. Pratt lacks the temperment, fair-mindedness and commitment to equal rights that must be demanded of those entrusted with defending the rights of all people. I urge you to reject this unqualified and unfit nominee. Thank you.
