Today I’m writing to urge your strong support for the Hands Off Our Social Security Act, (H.R. 4734) recently introduced by several Democratic lawmakers. This important legislation aims to safeguard the Social Security system that over 70 million Americans rely on for retirement and disability income. The urgency of this matter cannot be overstated. Social Security trustees have warned that the program's retirement trust fund could be depleted by 2033, potentially leading to automatic benefit reductions if Congress fails to act. This looming crisis demands immediate attention and proactive measures to protect this vital social safety net. The Hands Off Our Social Security Act also offers a comprehensive approach to preserving the integrity of the Social Security Administration (SSA) and its services.
