The gutting of federal election security has to stop. Since January 2025, the administration has dismantled nearly every institution built to protect American elections from foreign interference — and I want you to fight back. Demand full restoration of CISA's election-security programs, reinstate the EI-ISAC and MS-ISAC partnerships, and push to reconstitute the Election Assistance Commission, which now has zero active commissioners after the White House fired its Democratic members and the last Republican resigned.
The scale of what's been dismantled is staggering. CISA lost nearly 1,000 staff — a third of its workforce. The FBI's Foreign Influence Task Force, created after Russia's 2016 interference, was dissolved on Attorney General Bondi's first day in office. The intelligence community's Foreign Malign Influence Center was gutted. The State Department's office countering Russian, Chinese, and Iranian information operations was shut down entirely. The administration claims the CISA cuts save $10 million a year — a rounding error in a federal budget — while leaving states exposed to escalating threats they cannot handle alone.
Foreign adversaries are watching this happen in real time. Sen. Mark Warner has already raised alarms; state officials are begging Congress to restore these programs. This isn't about partisan advantage — it's about whether American elections can be trusted at all. Use every tool available to reverse these cuts before the next election cycle.
