Stop The Wrecking Ball Approach to Govt Efficiency

I love America and all that it has stood for during my 79 years. I served 23 years in the military. I am not ashamed of America. BUT I AM ASHAMED OF WHAT THE PRESIDENT AND THE GOP ARE DOING TO AMERICA. Republicans in the Senate are supine, President Trump is acting like Mussolini, he has outsourced the destruction of our government to a maniacal South African who violated the legal restrictions of his student visa, and is charging through the government like a bull in a china shop. What Musk is doing is a far cry from a systematic, thorough, meaningful evaluation of government agencies and programs. What he is doing is a slash and burn trampling of Speaker Johnson and the House GOP have allowed themselves to be cowed into supporting the destruction of government efforts and programs that have protected the American people and promoted democracy around the world. Reliable sources have reported that members of Congress are scared out of their minds that if they oppose President Trump they will be “primaried” by an opponent FUNDED BY ELON MUSK, the unelected consigliere or Trump. The American people DID NOT vote for the destruction of their government. Trump was elected by only 31.8% of the eligible voters in the US. That's hardly an "unprecedented" and "powerful mandate," as President Trump has claimed. Nor is it a mandate for the Congress to tear apart the fabric of our country and our government. This unhinged wrecking ball approach to finding “fraud, waste and abuse” of government funds has yielded a multitude of mistakes and missteps that have cost peoples’ jobs, unnecessary expenditures to rectify DOGE mistakes. This recklessness is severely damaging the reputation of the United States around the world, and for what? I strongly urge all of you to look in the mirror and think about what you are doing to the greatest country in the history of the world. Stop the destruction now. The American people didn’t vote for this. They will not accept this. Republicans have self-destructed their once proud party. If the Musk-Trump destruction and lies aren’t stopped soon, Americans will be paying the price for the next century.
