An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Give Manatees Endangered Species Status

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

We must take urgent action to protect the endangered Florida manatee population. Seagrass beds, a critical food source for manatees, are disappearing at an alarming rate due to water pollution and other environmental stresses. Healthy seagrass meadows are vital for providing nutrition and habitat for these gentle marine mammals. Without immediate intervention to restore water quality and preserve these crucial ecosystems, we risk witnessing the tragic decline and potential extinction of the beloved manatee in our state waters. Safeguarding seagrass is pivotal to ensuring the survival of this iconic species for generations to come.
