An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Condemn DOJ's attacks on federal law enforcement independence

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

These sickening and outrageous attempts by the Justice Department to demand identities of FBI agents involved in the January 6th investigations and terminate officials working on those cases reek of politically-motivated retribution against those simply carrying out their lawful duties. Such dictatorial moves are a flagrant assault on principles of due process and equal application of the law that any democratic society relies upon, an ominous bid to shred the independence of federal law enforcement from interference and intimidation by the executive branch. As elected representatives sworn to uphold the rule of law, you must forcefully condemn these chilling, authoritarian developments in the strongest possible terms. Take immediate and decisive action to rigorously investigate these disturbing actions and defend democratic norms and institutions against further erosion by this rogue regime.
