Adopting the ERA is crucial

I am writing to urge you to take action in support of adopting the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to the United States Constitution. The ERA would provide a clear judicial basis for protecting against sex discrimination by guaranteeing equal rights under the law regardless of gender. Despite widespread public support for equal rights, the lack of explicit protections in the Constitution has allowed discriminatory practices to persist. Adopting the ERA is crucial for enshrining gender equality as a fundamental value in our legal system and society. Numerous other nations already have constitutional provisions guaranteeing equal rights. It is long overdue for the United States to join them by adding the ERA to ensure true equality for all citizens.
