Block Funding for Trump's $275 Billion "Golden Fleet" Boondoggle

Block funding for Trump's "Golden Fleet" battleship program. The Congressional Budget Office just priced it at $275 billion through 2056 — 50% more than previous estimates — making these Trump-class ships the most expensive warships ever built. That money should not go to a vanity project inspired by a 1950s TV documentary.
Battleships are obsolete. Every single one was decommissioned by the early 1990s, and military experts are calling these proposed vessels "bomb magnets." The Navy's own operational doctrine has moved toward distributed maritime operations — spreading capabilities across many smaller, networked ships — not concentrating firepower in a handful of massive, easy-to-target hulks. Mark Cancian at the Center for Strategic and International Studies has made this case clearly, and the CBO's own analysis warns the shipbuilding industry can't even handle the production demands.
Families are struggling to afford groceries, healthcare, and childcare. Congress cannot throw hundreds of billions at a program that serves no strategic purpose and exists mainly to fill defense contractor coffers. Work with colleagues on the Appropriations Committee to reject this project entirely.
