Reject regressive tax agenda, prioritize families and climate action

The Republican tax and spending package prioritizes tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations at the expense of crucial programs that support working families and address climate change. Extending the Trump tax cuts and adding new loopholes like exempting tips from taxation overwhelmingly benefits the wealthy while doing little for low and middle-income Americans. The steep cuts to Medicaid funding and imposing harsh work requirements threaten healthcare access for millions. Eliminating clean energy tax credits halts progress on reducing emissions and transitioning to renewable sources, exacerbating the costly impacts of climate change. This agenda favors the interests of the affluent few over the needs of ordinary Americans and the future of the planet. We cannot afford policies that widen inequality, undermine a social safety net, and hamper environmental protection. Comprehensive reform is needed to create an equitable tax system, strengthen vital social programs, and urgently confront the climate crisis through investments in clean energy solutions.
