The US should immediately suspend arms sales and military assistance to Israel given the credible evidence that the Israeli military is using US weapons to unlawfully kill civilians, including aid workers. An Israeli airstrike on March 27 using a US-made guidance kit killed seven emergency and relief volunteers in Lebanon who were not affiliated with any armed group. This strike failed to take all necessary precautions to verify the target and avoid civilian casualties, potentially amounting to a war crime if intentional or reckless. Despite recent assurances to the US that it complies with the laws of war, Israel's conduct raises grave concerns over the unlawful use of US weapons against civilians. The uninterrupted flow of arms facilitates further civilian deaths.
