An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Reject Devastating Medicaid Cuts, Close Corporate Loopholes

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Here is a draft message to representatives regarding the proposed Medicaid cuts: The proposed Medicaid cuts would devastate millions of Americans, stripping away vital health coverage for low-income individuals and families, people with disabilities, and vulnerable populations across the country. Slashing hundreds of billions from Medicaid is unconscionable when corporations and wealthy individuals continue to enjoy generous tax breaks and subsidies. Rather than target a program that provides a critical lifeline, lawmakers should instead focus on closing loopholes that allow the richest Americans and large corporations to avoid paying their fair share in taxes. Prioritizing tax giveaways to the wealthy over access to affordable health care for those most in need is an egregious dereliction of moral responsibility. I urge you to reject these draconian Medicaid cuts and realign priorities to put the wellbeing of constituents first by reining in excessive corporate welfare instead.
