An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Stop Insurance Cheats & Enact Improved Medicare For All

16 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

I am your constituent, and I am outraged. According to ProPublica, health insurers are still allowed to charge fees when they pay claims electronically (instead of by check) to medical providers like my doctor or hospital. They charge as much as 5% of the two trillion dollars paid electronically annually. That’s tens of billions of dollars given to insurance companies and intermediaries instead of on patient care. Insurers have slashed doctors’ reimbursement rates, cost them patients by excluding them from their provider networks, and forced them to spend extra time seeking pre-authorizations for ever more procedures and battling denials of coverage. Now, doctors need to pay fees to get paid. I want you to enact the much-improved Medicare for All, HR 3421. It saves hundreds of billions a year, covers us all cradle to grave, makes industry more competitive, and builds rural healthcare infrastructure. It saves money and saves lives. What are you waiting for? Thank you.
