Oppose Efforts to Dehumanize Transgender and LGBTQ+ People

I am deeply concerned about the Trump administration's numerous attacks on the rights and existence of transgender and LGBTQ+ individuals. The executive orders and policy proposals denigrating and attempting to erase trans and non-binary identities are not based in science and represent an unacceptable form of discrimination. Specifically, the efforts to ban gender-affirming medical care for minors and adults, prohibit trans service members from the military, deny legal identification documents, and withhold federal funds from schools that support trans students are egregious violations of civil rights. These directives put lives at risk by denying access to essential medical treatment and perpetuating stigma against an already vulnerable population. I urge you to vigorously oppose this agenda of intolerance and dehumanization. Please propose and cosponsor legislation that affirms the rights, dignity and identities of transgender and LGBTQ+ people and prevents these harmful policies from taking effect. Defending the principles of equality and inclusion for all should be a paramount priority.
