Vote NO on the Big, Bad Bill!

The proposed tax and budget bill harms our children, families, communities, schools, and economy. This is why I am urging you to vote “NO”! This bill slashes funding for Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, nutrition assistance, Planned Parenthood, and child and elder care. It also includes the Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA), a deceptive private school voucher scheme. ECCA creates a 100% tax credit for wealthy donors, up to 10% of their income or $5,000, whichever is more, for giving cash or stock to private scholarship organizations that fund private school vouchers. Starting in 2027, that’s up to $4 billion in tax credits yearly. These are not educational investments; they are giveaways to billionaires and mega-donors, written directly into our tax code. Meanwhile, our public schools, where the overwhelming majority of children learn, are already underfunded. Diverting billions to private schools, many of which can reject students with disabilities or choose who they serve, is cruel. I urge you to stand with families, educators, and communities, not billionaires. Vote NO on this harmful bill.
