An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Push against the unconstitutional barring of the AP

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Given the unconstitutional restrictions placed on the Associated Press by the Trump administration's ban on AP journalists from presidential events, it is imperative that this authoritarian overreach be swiftly rectified. Freedom of the press is a cornerstone of American democracy, enshrined in the First Amendment by the Founding Fathers to safeguard citizens' right to information from independent and factual sources like the AP. Denying access to this esteemed news organization undermines public discourse and impedes the electorate's ability to make informed decisions. This is an egregious violation of constitutional principles that must not stand. Restoring the AP's access rights is crucial to upholding press freedoms and preserving government transparency and accountability to the people.
