An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Trump is not above the law & is responsible for creating concentration camps

4 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The current administration's blatant disregard for due process and the rule of law has resulted in the disturbing establishment of concentration camps where legal U.S. residents like Kilmar Abrego Garcia are being illegally detained without trial. This represents an egregious violation of constitutional rights and human rights norms. The explicit collusion between President Trump and El Salvadoran President Bukele to circumvent court orders and continue Abrego Garcia's unlawful detention sets a dangerous precedent that threatens the liberty of every American. If left unchecked, this administration has made clear its intent to expand such extrajudicial treatment to U.S. citizens as well under the guise of opposing Trump's authoritarian agenda. This outright defiance of judicial authority and human rights cannot be allowed to stand in a nation built on democratic principles. Decisive action must be taken to rein in this flagrant abuse of power, restore due process protections for all, and hold President Trump accountable for his unconstitutional actions before further damage is done to our democracy and human rights record. The very foundation of our civil liberties is at stake.
