The government should not have a say over when consenting adults have sex. Everyone has a fundamental right to bodily autonomy. Despite this our state continues to criminalize sex workers. Not only is this a massive human rights issue, it endangers sex workers and the public in general. Without the ability to negotiate safe working conditions it causes the spread of STIs and increases the frequency of violence. Sex trafficking becomes easier to practice because the victims risk punishment for reporting.
Who are you to tell an adult when they can't have consensual intercourse? Why are you endangering workers just trying to survive. All workers sell their bodies and their skills to survive. Sex work is no different. Decriminalize Sex Work.
