An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Reject Cuts to Medicaid and SNAP

24 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

As your constituent, I urge you to reject the proposed Medicaid and SNAP cuts in the budget reconciliation bill. These cuts would devastate communities by: - Forcing 330 rural hospitals to close or reduce services - Eliminating 1.2 million jobs nationwide - Causing 16 million people to lose health insurance - Resulting in an estimated 51,000 additional deaths annually The SNAP cuts represent the largest reductions to food assistance in history, making it harder for struggling families to afford basic nutrition while shifting costs to already-strained state budgets. States will likely deny benefits or cut other essential programs, harming vulnerable community members. This budget package increases federal deficits through tax breaks for the wealthy while cutting support for people with disabilities, veterans, children, and seniors. This contradicts our values of compassion and care for those in need. Congress should focus on helping families rather than abandoning the most vulnerable. Please prioritize the needs of the majority of Americans and vote no on this budget package.
