The Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act is a disaster for the US.

Reject the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act. The Senate has released the text of the permitting reform bill entitled "Bipartisan American
Affordability and Jobs Act" which is supposedly scheduled to be voted on November 9 or 10. Just as a head's up, they are touting this as a win-win because it includes provisions for renewable energy. But when digging into the details, those provisions are nearly toothless and are completely shadowed by the other language added in that, among other things, locks in fossil fuel projects, including pipelines, export terminals, onshore and offshore drilling, as well as making it so pipelines and gas-generated electricity can never be challenged in court; guts parts of the Clean Water Act preventing states from protecting rivers and streams from pipelines; weakens Tribal nations from being able to protect their lands from fossil fuel projects; guts the Endangered Species Act rendering it nearly useless; and it gets worse... it nearly completely prevents the ability of the public (including nonprofits and communities) from being able to bring environmental justice claims against fossil fuel projects. People should be able to protect themselves and their communities from what we all know is causing climate change, but this bill is aimed at preventing any of us from having
a say at all.
