Launch investigation into ICE’s surveillance of online critics

I am writing because the recent Wall Street Journal reporting on ICE’s online surveillance program is extremely concerning. According to the investigation, ICE contractors are monitoring social media posts around the clock and compiling dossiers on anyone who speaks out against ICE.   Criticizing government agencies and documenting enforcement actions are protected First Amendment activities. Congress has a responsibility to ensure federal agencies are not using taxpayer funds to intimidate or surveil lawful dissent.   I am asking you to urge the House Homeland Security Committee to launch a full investigation into ICE’s surveillance of online critics and stop taxpayer funds from being used to monitor or intimidate people for criticizing immigration enforcement.   Thank you.
