I am writing as your constituent to urge you in the strongest possible terms to vote against the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill.”
This bill proposes devastating cuts to essential programs like Medicaid and SNAP, with Medicare likely next in line for reductions. These programs are lifelines for millions of Americans—including some of the most vulnerable residents of Ohio. Gutting them in favor of tax breaks or spending that disproportionately benefits the wealthiest 10% is not just irresponsible, it is cruel.
This bill does not reflect Ohio’s values of fairness, compassion, and community. Slashing SNAP means more children and seniors will go to bed hungry. Cutting Medicaid and threatening Medicare puts the health and lives of low income families, disabled individuals, and the elderly at risk. The burden of this legislation will fall squarely on the shoulders of those least able to bear it.
Please understand: if this bill passes, those who supported it will be responsible for the suffering that follows. Voting for this bill is a vote to deprive your most at-risk constituents of food, medical care, and basic human dignity.
I urge you to stand up for Ohio’s working families, our elderly, our sick, and our poor. Please vote NO on the “Big Beautiful Bill.”
