From his erratic promotion of cryptocurrency, such as Dogecoin, to the reckless suspension of discretionary grants that were already appropriated by Congress, Musk’s involvement appears to be a direct waste of taxpayer money. It is unacceptable that crucial programs are being derailed while federal employees—dedicated public servants—are subjected to slander and harassment on social media, often encouraged by the same figures in power who should be upholding the dignity of government service. Furthermore, the administration’s budget blueprint proposes $4 trillion in tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans while simultaneously slashing social programs that support working- and middle-class families. It is morally indefensible to prioritize giveaways to billionaires at the expense of healthcare, education, and critical infrastructure. This budget does not reflect the needs or values of everyday Americans; it is a direct attack on economic fairness. On the world stage, our leadership is faltering. Former President Trump’s reckless labeling of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy as a “dictator” undermines our commitment to defending democracy against authoritarian threats. Meanwhile, the U.S. vote at the United Nations aligning with Russia, refusing to condemn their actions, is a disturbing departure from our historic role as a defender of freedom and human rights. These choices embolden adversaries, alienate our allies, and weaken American credibility. I urge you to take immediate action to address these issues. Congress must reassert its authority, ensure responsible fiscal policy, and stand firm in support of democratic values. I expect you to push back against billionaires dictating policy, protect working Americans from economic exploitation, and reaffirm our country’s commitment to global leadership.
