Official Government Accounts Are Not a Gore Channel

Dear Representative, On October 13, 2026, President Trump posted footage to Truth Social of a man being fatally mauled by a tiger at a UK wildlife park, captioned "Don't ever mess with nature!" He followed it with a compilation of people being attacked by big cats, set to music. The White House's official Rapid Response account on X reshared the posts to millions of followers. When asked for an explanation, the White House offered none and pointed reporters back to the posts. The man in that video was a real person. He died from his injuries days earlier, and his family now has to know his final moments were broadcast by the President of the United States as entertainment. This is not an isolated lapse. In April, the President posted uncensored video of a Florida gas station clerk being beaten to death with a hammer and used her killing to promote immigration policy. Earlier this year, official White House accounts set real strike footage from the Iran conflict to video game and movie clips while Americans and civilians were dying. A pattern is forming: the official communications of the executive branch are being used to circulate real deaths as spectacle. Taxpayer-funded government accounts carry the authority of the office. They should be held to a standard of basic dignity, and right now no one is enforcing one. I am asking you: • Send a formal oversight letter to the White House asking who authorized resharing these videos on an official government account, and what content standards, if any, govern those accounts. • Support or introduce legislation establishing content standards for official executive branch social media, including a prohibition on posting graphic footage of real deaths for non-official purposes. • Publicly state your position on whether this conduct is acceptable from the office of the President. Silence from Congress is being read as permission. Each time this behavior passes without consequence, the line moves further. I expect my representative to say clearly where that line is. Sincerely,
A Voting Constituent
