Disgusted and ashamed of South Dakota’s “ leadership

Stealing from the poor and vulnerable to benefit the wealthy is not only unAmerican, unChristian, and unSouth Dakotan, it’s disgraceful and diabolical. It’s the opposite of Robin Hood. You all should be disgusted and ashamed. ~$700 billion cuts to Medicaid ~$267 billion cuts to SNAP ~Reducing household resources to the poorest South Dakotans by 4% over the next 8 years ~Eliminating a significant number of small business support programs ~Making it harder for student borrowers to repay their debt ~All while increasing tax cuts for the top 5% of earners who don't need the cuts. What does that result in? The largest transfer of wealth from the poorest Americans to the wealthiest in our nation's history. Not to mention, this "Big, Beautiful Disaster" will add more than $3.8 trillion to the federal deficit. There is nothing South Dakotan or fiscally responsible about what Representative Johnson just did. And this bill, if passed in the United States Senate, will cause significant harm to every South Dakotan by blowing a hole in the state's budget, on top of it. I'm angry. And you should be, too. I hope you will be brave enough to break party lines and do what is right by your constituents and Vote NO to this Big Ugly Bill.
