OPPOSE DOGE - Urgent Action to Protect Americans’ Data

I am appalled by your silence and lack of action on the actions of Elon Musk, who in acting as the lead of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has accessed sensitive information from the Treasury, including IRS and Social Security data. Musk is a belligerent and unstable individual who does not have the best interests of the American people, and will do anything to exploit this data to enrich himself. As someone who has not gone through review by an oversight committee and has not been confirmed to his position, he is not acting ethically nor reasonably. His actions are outrageous, unacceptable, and he is easily compromised. Furthermore, Musk’s team under DOGE have not gone through any oversight process to ensure they will not abuse their positions. There has never been a higher risk for infiltration, intelligence gathering, and manipulation by malicious agents, which opens the floodgates for espionage and cyberwarfare at unprecedented levels. Improper management of IRS and SSA data will ruin the lives of all Americans when leaked. I am seriously appalled by your silence on this matter. It has long been time for you to challenge this outrageous lapse in security. Our wellbeing is at stake. It is time to pose meaningful opposition to DOGE and bar individuals with conflicts of interest, such as Musk, from accessing Americans’ sensitive information.
