An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Prioritize firefighter health and safety through legislation

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I'm furious that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. cut funds aimed at supporting the health and safety of firefighters who put their lives at risk daily. These courageous first responders face higher rates of respiratory illnesses, cancer, and cardiovascular disease due to exposure to hazardous materials like smoke, chemicals, and building debris. Denying them access to regular medical screenings, proper protective equipment, and comprehensive healthcare coverage is unacceptable. By failing to prioritize firefighter health, Kennedy has undermined those who sacrifice for our communities' safety. I demand immediate action to reinstate and bolster funding for firefighter healthcare and workplace protections to adequately address the occupational hazards they face.
