An open letter to the U.S. Congress

THE ROCHA FAMILY

6 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

I am writing to you to ask for clarity and understanding on the immigration visa denial and tourist visa suspension of Jorge and Yolanda Rocha. The Rochas are Venezuelan nationals with strong ties to the Central Louisiana community through their son Jorge Rocha-Alvarez and daughter-in-law Hayley Jeffus, a lifetime resident of Pineville, Louisiana. They left Pineville, Louisiana on Christmas Eve for their green card interview in Bogota, Colombia. On January 6th they learned at their interview no immigrant visas would be given. When they tried checking in to their flight to return to Pineville to finish their holiday with their son and family they were told they could not return to the US on their tourist visas. All of this has come as a great shock to their family here in Pineville. The Rocha family invites you to sit down with them at their Main St restaurant, Li’l Chubby’s, and listen to their concerns. Please help this family understand why this is happening. They are worried they may never see one another again.
