Price Gouging Prevention Act of 2022

URGENT REQUEST - Price Gouging Prevention Act of 2022 I am writing with great urgency to request that you cosponsor and work toward the swift passage of the Price Gouging Prevention Act of 2022 (H.R. 7736 (Representative Janice D. Schakowsky) in the House and S. 4214 (Senator Elizabeth Warren) in the Senate). The House bill was referred on 05/12/2022 to the Committee on Energy and Commerce (@EnergyCommerce) and to the Committee on Financial Services (@FSCDems). The Senate bill was read twice and referred on 05/12/22 to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation (@CommerceDems). These bills have actionable goals to make price gouging unlawful and to expand the ability of the Federal Trade Commission to seek permanent injunctions and equitable relief. Please read my message as a sincere and heartfelt urgent request for you to impress upon the members of @CommerceDems, @FSCDems, and @EnergyCommerce the importance of this legislation. Please urge them to hold hearings now to shine a spotlight on the price gouging that some American corporations are engaging in —- wittingly —- with the wink winks of our new class of American oligarchs.
