Kennedy’s Quack Coup at HHS Must End Now

The overhaul of the CDC’s vaccine advisory panel by HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. poses a serious threat to public health. He replaced all 17 original ACIP members—many of whom were leading experts—with individuals lacking relevant qualifications, including known vaccine skeptics like Dr. Robert Malone. This shakeup has led to a focus on outdated vaccine debates, such as thimerosal in flu shots, despite its proven safety. Two senior CDC officials have resigned in protest, warning that these changes weaken evidence-based policy and jeopardize children's safety. Major pediatric and physician groups, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, have condemned Kennedy's actions. Kennedy must be removed from HHS to safeguard scientific integrity and restore qualified experts to the ACIP. Congress needs to act now to protect public health.
