“This anarchy will not stand.”
So says the instigator of January 6. And the pardoner of true anarchists. Only the completely shameless could say such words with a straight face and a clear conscience.
And this is our president.
His “Big Lie” that the 2020 election had been stolen incited a mob, who attacked the Capitol, injured and killed police officers, and attempted to overthrow a free and fair election.
Where was the National Guard then?
Trump’s latest big lie—that LA had become a war zone, justifying deployment of both the NG and US Marines, only served to increase violence. His self-fulfilling prophecy and desired goal.
And the predictable media sensationalism has only aided and abetted Trump. Not a single local LA news outlet agrees with the ‘riot’ characterization.
Trump’s calling it an insurrection. It is not. Once again Trump’s lies, not reality, provide the pretext to escalate violence.
On Saturday, there were 250+ protesters pre-National Guard deployment.
On Sunday, following National Guard deployment, the protesters grew to over 3,000. The military’s presence is inviting and incentivizing demonstrations.
Trump is fulfilling his longstanding desire “to deploy federal force to blue places for many purposes.” His order authorizes it nationwide. And he’s sending force to LA as he’s trying to cut federal funds from blue states/cities unless they adopt red state cultural policies.
In reality, resistance to his policies triggered the confrontation. Trump has sought to use any means available against states and cities and universities and law firms and every country on the planet that resist him.
If this is such a problem where is the actual proof any of it was necessary? There is none offered. That is because LA was generally calm until Trump sent in troops.
We the people see through this. And we do not like it. Trump has gone to war against citizens who are exercising their First Amendment rights.
This is what tyrants do.
But if you believe it to be otherwise, please show us the proof it was necessary. And give us your assurances that it won’t happen again.
Can you/will you do either?
