I am writing to express my opposition to H.R. 22, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act. This legislation imposes unnecessary barriers to voter registration by requiring in-person submission of documentary proof of citizenship .
Such requirements disproportionately affect eligible voters who may lack immediate access to documents like birth certificates or passports, including seniors, low-income individuals, and married women who have changed their names.
I urge you to:
* Vote against the SAVE Act.
* Support measures that expand, rather than restrict, access to the ballot.
* Uphold the fundamental right to vote for all eligible citizens.
Protecting the integrity of our elections should not come at the cost of disenfranchising voters.
Thank you for your dedication to fair and accessible elections.
