Please consider voting in support of H.R.1942: To extend Federal recognition to the Waccamaw Indian People of Conway, South Carolina, and for other purposes.
This bill will support the community of Waccamaw Indian People and give them the rights that every American citizen is due, some of which are currently denied them.
The Waccamaw have been in South Carolina since before European settlers arrived, and their culture as a Native community has endured to this day.
Federal Recognition for the Waccamaw means that the tribe would have a government-to-government relationship with the United States.
Let's all look toward a hopeful future: one of mutual respect and acceptance. We believe you can make
this possible by acknowledging the Waccamaw and their important role in our society.
Please take a moment to consider the Waccamaw as a Native community and understand how your
actions can help give them a genuine place in society.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Please support H.R.1942!
