Reject discriminatory SB1002, protect all Arizona students

This legislation would mandate harmful and discriminatory policies towards LGBTQ+ students in Arizona schools. SB1002 aims to restrict the use of personal pronouns that align with a student's gender identity and bar policies affirming transgender and non-binary youth. Such measures threaten the wellbeing and safety of an already vulnerable population. We must protect all students and foster an inclusive environment free from bias. Schools should be safe havens where every child can learn and thrive without fear of harassment or marginalization. SB1002 promotes the opposite - legitimizing discrimination and putting LGBTQ+ youth at heightened risk of mental health issues, dropping out, homelessness, and violence. No student deserves to have their identity invalidated or face institutionalized ostracization. I urge you to reject this harmful bill and instead champion policies that embrace diversity, affirmation, and respect for all Arizona's children. Our schools should nurture acceptance, not enshrine intolerance. Stand up for LGBTQ+ students by opposing SB1002 and any legislation jeopardizing their basic rights and dignity. Our kids' futures depend on an education system that values and safeguards every young person.
